AECOM and DMJM Harris Endow New Scholarship in Honor of Richard J. Bouchard

Richard J. Bouchard

AECOM and DMJM Harris presented the APTF with a check for $50,000 in support of an endowed scholarship to honor Richard J. Bouchard.

Bouchard served as the first chair of the American Public Transportation Foundation in 1988.  His professional career included serving in the Federal Highway Administration; as director of environmental research and planning assistance for U.S. DOT; director of transportation and chief operating officer for Daniel, Mann, Johnson, and Mendenhall (now DMJM Harris); manager of corporate development for Ashland Technology; and ultimately his post at AECOM, from which he retired in 1997.  John Dionisio, CEO of AECOM, and DMJM Harris president Jane Chmielinski were the prime movers behind this initiative to recognize Bouchard’s extraordinary contributions to transportation.  Bouchard, retired executive vice president and chief operating officer of AECOM Technology Corp, died September 16, 2006.

In consideration for Bouchard’s passion for creative planning and development, this scholarship will be awarded to an individual seeking a career in transportation planning and development.
