Goal

Raise $50,000, by soliciting support from as many small size businesses who are interested in establishing an additional named scholarship by the 2016.

This allows any smaller company, unable to donate $50,000, to be equally received the acknowledgement any large size business may receive. APTF would give smaller firms or those that would want to contribute a lesser amount a chance to continue an annual amount for a scholarship – maybe 5 firms, $2,000 per year – which would support one named scholarship over a 5 year period.

General Background

The “Take Us There, TOO” Campaign means a commitment from 5 small businesses, associations or organizations to agree to establish one (1) new named scholarship over 5 years, for a total of $50,000. The Campaign would be announced in March 2012 and would continue through following 5 years.

By raising $50 million, small businesses would also be helping APTF expand the number of student scholarships and help enhance workforce development in the public transportation industry.

The donating entities could specify the type of scholarship they would like to give, as long as it conformed to the general goals of APTF and benefits the public transportation industry. The APTF Board would approve each scholarship fund and would choose the scholarship winners during its annual scholarship selection process.

  • Passenger Transport articles.

It is also important to remember that the focus of the campaign should not only be on the building or amassing a large scholarship fund, but on its benefits to the industry.
